SleepWalks: The Body of DreamsAn Art Exhibit & Multimedia Dance Performance
Based on the Collective Dreams of Participants of Two SleepWalks Overnight Soundscape Performances SleepWalks: The Body of Dreams is an art and science collaboration formed between two musicians, Andrea Williams and Lee Pembleton, scientist Todd Anderson, and Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company (Choreographer, Ellen Sinopoli, and 6 dancers/choreographers: Louisa Barta, Maggie Ciambrone, Madeline Morser, André Robles, and Sara Sencal). SleepWalks: The Body of Dreams is a multimedia performance that presents dance choreography and visual and sound art derived from collaborative dream journal entries and sleep data collected with biosensors during two SleepWalks—overnight sound performances for sleeping audiences. SleepWalks is a soundwalk–a collaborative listening experience– for sleeping dreamers. The primary theme for the sleeping dreams was Water and traveling through local waterscapes. www.sleepwalks.org Video excerpts from SleepWalks: The Body of Dreams (October 2016): |
