Breathing Room 2008 - This piece began in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil during a sound art residency in 2007, directed by sound artist/biologist, Francisco Lopez.  We were to compose a piece that would be performed in the Amazon.  It is a rare experience to get to record sounds in the jungle and edit and perform the sounds as the jungle sounds are going on all around the audience.  A version of this piece was then played on Giant Ear))) on free103point9. This final Breathing Room piece was created for a friend's Art Social in Brooklyn where she opens up her entire home as an art gallery.  I created a 3-channel piece for her bedroom that utilized the speakers already existing in her room that drew out the sounds of the room itself, then into the surreal world of the Amazon and back again.  A Breathing Room.
