Spring Avenue Natural Spring

Picture
Spring Avenue Natural Spring

On 64 Spring Ave. in Troy, NY there are six spickets streaming water out of the hillside from a reservoir above.

I visited the site one day in late December 2014 with a meager water bottle to reuse as I wanted to try just a taste of the water. The site is marked by a small parking lot and signs that say 15-minute parking only. Also there are signs that say city is not involved.

One woman there said that through generations of her family, they drink no other water.  She filled many empty jugs.

A man there was filling up several office canisters.

I asked them, Where does the water come from?

They both looked to the hills and pointed.

Up there.

But no more was known.

The water tasted delicious.
